Ju-Jitsu (also known as Ju-Jutsu or Jiu Jitsu), is a Japanese martial art and a method of close combat for tackling an armed or armored opponent in which one uses either a short weapon or no weapon.
"Jū" can be translated to mean "gentle, soft, supple, flexible, pliable, or yielding." "Jutsu" can be translated to mean "art" or "technique" and represents manipulating the opponent's force against themselves as opposed to using one's own force.
Ju Jitsu has become the system of unarmed combat used by the Military, Police and Security forces worldwide.
Ju Jitsu forms the basis of Karate, Aikido and Judo so you will see a mixture of strikes, Kicks, blocks, locks, escorts, take-downs, throws and hold-downs.

It can take anything from 2 years to 20 years and beyond. It really depends on the individual, the level of interest and how committed they are. Having previous experience in martial arts can be an advantage too.
Achieving your Black Belt is a great achievement and a big milestone, however, it is just the beginning not the end.
Reaching black belt level means you have learned the syllabus, it means so much more when you start teaching it to others.
It is only in teaching it to others when you really begin to break it down and reach a greater level of understanding.
In a word 'No'.
As you can imagine, the way we teach kids is very different from the way we teach adults. Not only does the way they learn differ, but the whole application of Martial Arts is very different. The experiences and dangers a child would face is very different and needs addressing accordingly.
You do not have to be particularly fit to start Ju Jitsu, however, your fitness will improve as you train. If your goal is to lose some weight, we can certainly help you with that.
Ju Jitsu is about personal development and helping you to become a better version of yourself: Healthier, Fitter, Stronger and More Confident.

Ju Jitsu is Great For Kids. There are so many benefits on offer.
These skills will have a massive, positive impact on your lives for many years to come. Your kids will learn effective self defence skills they soon realise they can be good at very quickly. Through repetition this builds great confidence.
Our Focus is to Help Your Child, through a combination of physical and mental training. Studies have shown that Martial Arts can increase a child's ability to focus, leading to better grades and ultimately a brighter future.
Our System of Ju Jitsu consists of Gross Motor Skills, these are simple body movements that virtually all people can perform.
Anyone can do Ju Jitsu, regardless of age, gender or size.
Studies show that a complex physical activity, such as martial arts, strengthens neural networks in the brain, enabling kids with ADHD to practice self-control. Movement helps them develop coordination while building strength.
Martial arts can be a great source of exercise for people who struggle with anxiety because its disciplines require you to learn both self-control, self-trust, and meditation.
Learning these martial arts disciplines can help overcome an anxiety attack and trigger a relaxation response in high-stress situations at work, school, or other parts of your life outside of the martial arts classroom.
Martial arts is known to help people with anxiety because of its ability to let you work out your frustrations and stress through kicking, punching, and yelling when executing a technique. It calls for big bursts of explosive energy, creating a healthy outlet for kids and adults to work out their anxiety.
Ju-jitsu helps a person train their mind to focus on the present and to control their thoughts. Ju-jitsu also provides the tools to survive under pressure and difficult situations, which so many with anxiety struggle to deal with.
Martial Arts can certainly help if your child is being bullied. Firstly it can help build confidence which in itself will make your child less likely to become a target for bullies.
By teaching self defence skills and the belief in themselves, will also help your child to deal with a situation if they have to physically defend themselves.
We teach skills that are simple, effective and can be performed by virtually all people.
Explained very simply - Karate is a Japanese word meaning, 'Empty Hand'. It is a system of combat designed to be used in defense against unarmed and/or armed opponents, in which the karate practitioner (karate-ka) uses nothing more than his own body parts such as hands, feet, knees, elbows etc .... 'Do' in Japanese means 'the way'. Hence, Karate-Do.
The Japanese martial art of Aikido is a comprehensive system of throwing, joint-locking, striking and pinning techniques, coupled with training in traditional Japanese weapons such as the sword, staff and knife.
Aikido represents a potent distillation of centuries of Japanese martial knowledge. It is one of the most widely practiced budo, or martial way, in the world.
The Japanese martial arts, influenced by the internal and meditative disciplines inherited from India and China, have often carried with them an emphasis on the development of internal, as well as physical, integrity.
Aikido as not only a means of vanquishing a foe, but as a means of promoting the positive character of the ideal warrior and ultimately of transcending dualistic conflict. Aikido was a path of self-development.
Judo is a dynamic combat sport that demands both physical prowess and great mental discipline.
From a standing position, it involves techniques that allow you to lift and throw your opponents onto their backs.
On the ground, it includes techniques that allow you to pin your opponents down to the ground, control them, and apply various chokeholds or joint locks until submission.
