Information For Parents

Can Ju Jitsu help with my child’s behaviour at school or at home?

"Yes, and we hear this from parents all the time.

Ju Jitsu gives children structure, clear expectations, and positive reinforcement. They learn to listen, stay focused, and follow through — not just in class, but at home and school as well.

When children feel confident and respected, their behaviour often improves in other areas of life too."

My child is shy or anxious — will they fit in?

"Absolutely. Many of our most focused, confident students were once shy or nervous when they started.

We create a warm, encouraging space where kids can go at their own pace. There’s no pressure to perform — just steady support and praise as they make progress.

In fact, martial arts is one of the best things for building social confidence in quieter kids."

How do you keep the classes fun and structured at the same time?

"We blend traditional martial arts values with creative, age-appropriate teaching.

For younger kids, we use games, challenges, and movement drills that build real skills while keeping them engaged. Older kids get more structure and responsibility, but we still make sure classes are varied and enjoyable.

The result? Kids stay focused, learn faster, and have a great time doing it."

What happens if my child loses interest or wants to stop?

"We understand that children go through phases. If your child ever feels unsure or needs a break, we’ll talk to you and explore the best path forward.

There are no contracts, so you’re never locked in. That said, we often find that small adjustments — like changing class times or setting mini-goals — can reignite a child’s enthusiasm."

What makes Ju Jitsu Rugby different from other martial arts schools?

"Great question. We focus on traditional values, practical self-defence, and personal development.

We’re not a belt factory or a sport-focused club. Our mission is to help every student — child or adult — become safer, fitter, better behaved, and more confident.

We offer smaller class sizes, individual attention, no hidden fees, and a real community feel."
